Dr. Slawinski (Dr. Dave) grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He attended the University of North Carolina on a swimming scholarship and received his B.S. in biology. Dr. Dave remained in Chapel Hill to attend the UNC School of Dentistry.

He graduated in 2006, and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors. Following dental school, Dr. Dave completed his residency training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and was named chief resident his final year.

Dr. Slawinski is a recipient of the prestigious Richard C. Pugh Award, an honor for scoring in the top three percent of candidates nationwide on the written pediatric dental board exam. He completed the final portion of the board examination process to become a board-certified pediatric dentist in May 2009. Dr. Dave recently had an article published in The Journal Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Slawinski is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. He holds hospital privileges at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson and WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.

After residency, Dr. Dave was an associate in a pediatric dental office in Winston-Salem, NC. He and his wife Katie, a native of Raleigh, missed the triangle area and are excited to be back. They have two sons, Charlie and Jack. They enjoy working out, cooking, spending time with family, and cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels.
